MS in Finance, Class of 2010

Assistant Vice President
EIG Global Energy Partners

Mark Bilali feels Simon's diversity, small-school setting and core emphasis on quantitative skill sets prepared him well to compete in his career with other graduates from top business schools.

"Today's business environment is ever changing and becoming more and more global," the Paramus, NJ, native says. "With the diversity of Simon, you receive a first-hand opportunity to interact with fellow classmates from different regions of the world. You never know where business might take you in the future, and to have a core understanding of different cultures, and to build relationships with fellow students from around the world, will put you in the best position to succeed."

The small-school setting also allows for the greatest possible amount of interaction with professors and fellow students, says Mark, an assistant VP with EIG Global Energy Partners. "As an early leader with no previous full-time work experience, understanding where I thought my niche was in the finance industry was not easy. Being able to interact with professors and fellow classmates who have experience in different sectors allowed me to understand the core differences between job functions, and highlight what I thought was best for myself."

"The quality of the academics at Simon impressed me. Professors are really focused on making sure that students not only understand important concepts, but that they can apply them to real-world problems as well. I really feel as though I've been taught all the tools I need to have to be able to be successful at my new career."
